Highlights

helleboresMarch brings the first opportunity for visitors to enjoy these beautiful Northamptonshire gardens open to the public. During March visitors to the gardens can find much to see and enjoy, including a wonderful display of Hellebores around the drive area and front of the house. Hellebores can also be found mingling with Narcissi planted in the area near the Potager. Elsewhere swathes of Crocuses can be seen nestling under the trees with many hundreds of Snowdrops.

tulipsApril brings the blossom on some of the trees and a multitude of beautiful Tulips, bringing vivid colour to the garden. Seeds will have been sown and the Potager will begin to show signs of new growth as planting schemes are established.

white wisteria trees May is the time to see the spectacular white standard Wisteria which are planted at the bottom of the terrace steps. On a sunny day they are a glorious sight and contrast wonderfully with the purple Wisteria flowering on the Rectory itself. The beauty of Peonies can also be appreciated in the herbaceous borders edging the lawn.

IrisJune As the year moves towards mid-summer the gardens become filled with a wide variety of beautiful plants. Of particular note are the striking Iris flowers which can be seen in the herbaceous borders, on either side of the lawn, and in the area around the rose garden. Opening times for these Northamptonshire gardens open to the public are often extended.

LavenderJuly brings the Lavender, edging the Potager paths, into flower. It is not just the feast for the eyes which is fantastic, but also the fragrance as you meander along the paths under arches festooned with Roses and soon to flower Sweet Peas. There are often events hosted in these Northamptonshire gardens open to the public during the month of July. Check the events page for details.

AgapanthusAugust is the time to really appreciate the profusion of container plants on and around the terrace. Agapanthus will be in full flower and can be fully appreciated in all its glory when viewed from the lawn as it stands in front of the Rectory's mellow stone.

Tibouchina UrvilleanaSeptember visitors can enjoy the fabulous colour of the Tibouchina Urvilleana in the main garden, whilst the Potager becomes a place to appreciate the bounty of nature as ripened fruit hangs heavy from the trees. This is the last month in the year you can visit these beautiful Northamptonshire gardens open to the public.
